Hate Crimes and White Nationalism
The House Judiciary Committee held a hearing to examine and discuss how to combat white nationalism and hate crimes. A North Carolina father spoke about how his daughters and son-in-law were killed execution-style, a murder he said was sparked by bigotry and hate. Others testifying included Facebook and Google officials. They outlined their companies’ efforts to identify and remove hate speech and content. Candace Owens, communications director for Turning Point USA and a conservative commentator, also testified,criticizing Democrats for holding such a hearing.
