Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump has pledged to deport all undocumented immigrants and rescind U.S. President Barack Obama’s executive orders on immigration if he is elected to the White House.
During an interview with NBC News on Sunday, Trump once again reiterated that his tough stance on immigration is part of the reason why he’s leading his GOP counterparts in all 2016 polls.
“We’re going to keep the families together, but they have to go,” Trump told “Meet the Press”.
While many activists have made the case that it is unfair to punish children of immigrants who were brought to the United States by their parents, Trump maintains that isn’t a good enough excuse to let them stay. He plans to rescind President Obama’s executive orders on immigration – including one that specifically protects from deportation the children of parents who came to the country illegally.
