Seattle Bomb Squad Called for “Strange Package” that was Just Some Weed

Seattle bomb squad was called when a lumpy plastic-wrapped package was found outside a vacant room at a downtown hotel.

The police, bomb squad, and fire’s hazmat team were called to the Four Seasons Hotel after staff found the package and grew concerned because the shape was odd and the intended recipient unclear.

When the teams arrived on the scene, they “detonated” the “bomb” and discovered a six pound package of marijuana and no explosives.

Seattle police say the pot was covered by several layers of packaging and petroleum jelly.

Police seized the marijuana for destruction.

Possession of marijuana is now legal in Washington, but police note that six pounds is well over the legal limit.
