Schools & Colleges Receiving Grenade Launchers, MRAP Armored Vehicles

Mike Paczesny | The Rundown Live

As police prepare themselves for war, schools and colleges across the country are now receiving equipment from the federal government that is developed for use in battle.

With programs like 1033 ( “From Warfighter to Crimefighter.”) military equipment is coming home and ending up in local school police departments.

Professor Dewey Cornell an expert in violence prevention and school safety at University of Virginia  stated “approximately 4,800 four-year colleges in the U.S., and an average of 10 homicides per year on college campuses, the average college can expect a homicide about once every 480 years.”

So why are grenade launchers and MRAPS being given to school police?

In 2013 alone, $449,309,003.71 worth of property was transferred to law enforcement.
