4th Annual Milwaukee Marijuana March & Interviews with Robert Burke and Jay BlazeOn May 3rd the Republican State convention was not the only political rally in town. Wisconsinites of all political views gathered at the Annual Marijuana March in support of complete legalization.

The march started at Kilbourn Park in Milwaukee and circled around ending at the park. It was a total of 4 miles.

South Eastern Wisconsin NORML organizer Jay Blaze was pleased with the turn out and described the gathering as “Awesome“.

We had way more people than we thought would turn out, 4 times more people than last year.”

wisocnsinrundownliveAt least 1,000 people, if not more, showed up to march in favor of complete legalization and we raised about 800 pounds of food for the Hunger Task Force, Reports Mike Paczesny of The Rundown Live.

Libertarian Party candidate for governor of the state of Wisconsin Robert Burke joined the march and told The Rundown Live:

There is a group of people that just don’t want to buy in to the dream of the American Barbie  future. They want to just go hang out, they want to have their own life, they want to have their own family, they don’t value maybe, working a 40 hour a week job, maybe they instead value growing a garden, getting closer to a simple life. These are the people,  the lifestyles Libertarians support. It just happens that these people just want a simple lifestyle, they also want marijuana legalized“.

Only 1 police cruiser was present at the park towards the end, presumably to make sure everyone left on time. No arrests, no problems.

WTMJ referred to last years event as the largest ever, so this by far surpassed last years events.
