This video is interesting because it features a military police officer detaining PINAC editor Jeff Gray for taking pictures near Naval Air Station in Jacksonville Florida.
Do Military officers even have authority to detain civilians? Specifically ones who are not on the base, for taking photos?
Gray mentions he had reports of this behavior so he went to experience it first hand.
The MP says “I have you on camera taking pictures of the base, I need your ID”
Gray refused to provide identification, causing the MP to call for backup. (Probably because he knew he wasn’t on base)
They eventually cut him lose after the brief harassment. Also after taking pictures of Gray’s vehicle which was also included in the video.
