A new Blue Cross study shows Obamacare patients are sicker and costlier than their counterparts. The Obama administration says the high costs and high need for care were expected, but insurers are now saying it’s unsustainable. UnitedHealth expects to lose $1 billion on Obamacare in 2015 and 2016 combined. Preventative care and disease management programs might help to stem the damage. But it could already be too late. Some insurers are questioning whether they’ll be able to remain in the system. And if Obamacare fails, tens of millions of Americans will be without health coverage.
