Florida governor Rick Scott emphasized that this was a necessary move to ensure the safety of the servicemen in his state.

“I’m going to do everything under my power to make sure every member- men and women of our National Guard is safe. I think we need to be doing that for our military all across our country. It is disturbing that ISIS (Islamic State) is targeting our military both here and abroad. And, I don’t want anything like what happened in Tennessee to ever happen here.”

Should we arm every National Guardsman? Let us know in the comments.
