An audio technician for the TV show “Cops” was killed during a police shootout.

The team member had worked with the Cops crew since 2009.

Todd Schmaderer, the Omaha police chief, confirmed that a bullet fired by an officer struck the tech during a shootout with the robbery suspect, who was also killed.

Police officers responded to a robbery inside a Wendy’s restaurant.

The suspect fired two shots at the responding officers, who responded with gunfire killing the audio tech, and the suspect.

The Cop’s footage has become evidence.

“Based on our viewing of the footage, the officers had no choice other than to respond (the way) they did,” Schmaderer said.

When asked at the press conference if the officers could have been “showing off for the cameras,” Schmaderer said that was “absolutely ridiculous.”

It was discovered that a pellet gun, that fired plastic bullets, was used in the robbery.

It is also believed to be the first death of a Cops crew member.
