The Chicago mega-region has been in talks with Chinese corporations about bringing investment to the region.
What this can be likened to is more of global standardization and Agenda 21, and a “sell-off” of the region to China. Much like our resources are being outsourced, so are our cities, and their labors.
China’s Ministry of Commerce and the City of Chicago signed a trade and investment agreement that facilitates trade between Chicago and 8 Chinese cities.
This is the first trade deal between cities of China and the U.S. that has been signed.
Look for more legislation with other mega regions in the future. Global standardization is the key.
