This week, as the White House kicked off its “Made in America” theme, critics quickly pointed out that many of Trump’s branded hats, ties, furniture and other items are manufactured outside the U.S. The president’s spotlight on American-made goods also comes the same week that the Carrier heating and cooling factory in Indiana will lay off several hundred workers tomorrow—jobs, that Trump had pledged to save only months earlier.
