larrydavisTexas resident Larry Davis ran a stop sign (reports vary) in his Buick in the city of Austin. When questioned if he had anything to drink, he insisted that he consumed only one beverage. Police pursued the sobriety test starting with “balancing on one foot”.

Police claim Larry had a difficult time “balancing on one foot” and needed to use his “arms to balance” according to Austin PD. In the defense of alcohol, this feat can be difficult even sober.

Breathalyzer tests performed by the Austin Police Department confirmed he blew a 0.00. and according to  KVUE , Larry Davis was taken to jail anyway. The Austin Police said they’re going by a “take-no-chances” policy. What does the Austin PD mean by “take-no-chances” policy?

In this example, it means they can arrest you with no evidence of a crime. Anyone can be arrested under this policy.

Davis’ attorney, Daniel Betts, told KVUE, “My reaction was just shock that this happened.

KVUE reports, 30% of drunk driving cases are being dismissed  according to Austin county prosecutors, more than any major Texas county. Austin citizens are being arrested with no evidence that will hold up in court. Austin citizens are not only being unethically detained, tax payers are stuck paying for these public services and its a waste of money.
